希多．凡荷納賀頓（Guido Van Genechten）

1957年生於比利時荷語區，是比利時國寶級圖畫書作家，不少作品都成為暢銷書，並且多次獲獎。過去曾在比利時的莫爾市藝術學院學習繪畫、圖像與攝影，並在圖像產業工作多年，現為全職兒童繪本作家。筆下的《兔子奇奇》（Rikki）系列繪本風靡多國，譯為多種語言。2007年，贏得《讀者文摘》的最佳童書插畫家獎；同年，作品《小小袋鼠》獲選為荷蘭年度繪本。

你是那個唯一可以決定怎麼對待自己的人

　　本書原文為荷蘭文，比利時繪本。是一個關於其貌不揚、不受喜歡的人，儘管因為別人冷漠的對待而傷心難過，最終仍選擇好好對待自己的小故事。這是一個嚴肅的課題，不過作者以可愛、輕鬆的畫風及簡單的文字來呈現這個主題，讀來不覺壓力卻又能引人深思。

　　悠尼是一隻小蜘蛛，親切又可愛。可是，沒人知道。

　　這天，悠尼手裡拿著個東西，一見人就說：「我……」可是，他話都還沒說出口，大家早已經尖聲大叫，逃得遠遠的。「臭兮兮、一身刺的動物。」、「長著一身黑毛的怪物。」、「看了就讓人發毛、到處爬的東西。」、「髒髒肥肥、圓滾滾的東西。」、「醜暴了的野獸。」……這些是大家對他的印象和批評。

　　其實，這天是悠尼的生日，他只是想和別人一起分享他的生日蛋糕。沒人願意陪他過生日，悠尼好難過，忍不住抽抽答答哭起來。不過，雖然沒有人祝福，悠尼還是對自己說：祝我生日快樂，然後呼嚕呼嚕吞下整塊生日蛋糕。

　　在這個故事中，作者鼓勵孩子，即使不被朋友喜歡，也要好好對待自己，就像強尼一樣，自己愛自己。作者也提醒讀者們，不要只因為一個人的外表而拒絕與對方交朋友，以和善、開放、包容的心試著去認識對方，你會發現，對方可能就像故事裡的強尼一樣，和善又可愛。

《如果沒有人喜歡我，我也要喜歡自己》是我最愛的作品之一，有好多老師跟學齡前兒童也都覺得悠尼很討人喜歡。這本書可以重新出版，我感到非常開心。
